UPI-Agro produces 226,000 tonnes of sugar and ranks among industry leaders

Sugar plants operated by Ukrprominvest-Agro Group (UPI-Agro) have completed sugar beet processing, confirming the company’s strong position in Ukraine’s sugar market, ProAgro Group reports.

According to the company, despite difficult weather conditions, repeated attacks on infrastructure and power outages, the plants maintained stable operations and ensured consistently high product quality.

During the 2025/26 processing campaign, Ukrprominvest-Agro plants processed 1.6 million tonnes of sugar beet, around half of which was supplied by partner farms within the company’s cooperation program with agricultural producers. The juice extraction season ended in mid-January — on January 16 at the Haisyn Sugar Plant and January 18 at the Kryzhopil Sugar Plant.

In total, the company produced 226,000 tonnes of sugar, with 92% meeting Grade I quality standards. In addition, 47,600 tonnes of syrup were placed into storage, creating additional potential to produce another 26,700 tonnes of sugar during the off-season.

According to company estimates, with Ukraine’s total sugar production in the 2025/26 season expected at around 1.8 million tonnes, Ukrprominvest-Agro accounts for approximately 14% of national output, allowing the group to retain its position among the top three sugar producers in Ukraine. Overall, 27 sugar plants were operating in the country during the season.

The company also highlighted strong operational performance indicators, including energy efficiency, technological discipline and high sugar recovery rates, which remain critical amid wartime challenges and rising production costs.

Earlier it was reported that Astarta agroholding completed its 2025 sugar beet processing season — the company’s 26th campaign — producing 361,000 tonnes of sugar.
