During 18 days of November, 1 763 thousand tons of grain were transported by rail, of which 1 541 thousand tons were carried in export traffic. This respectively exceeds the corresponding figures for October by 30% and 40%, as discussed during the online meeting of representatives of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” with agricultural market participants.
The volumes of grain loading onto the railway also increased, writes RAIL.insider. Thus, since the beginning of the current month, 1 565 thousand tons of grain have been loaded onto Ukraine’s railway network, which is 27% more than in October.
Traditionally, the lion’s share of grain cargo is transported towards the ports — 93%. Accordingly, only 7% of grain cargo is exported through western border crossings.
