The branch “Center for Transport Logistics” of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” is preparing to introduce new calculated speeds for freight wagon movement starting January 1, 2026.
As Igor Trybis, director of CTL, reported, the updated indicators will be lower than in the first half of 2025: “We all must understand – starting January 1, the speed will be different. It will decrease for both wagonload and route shipments.”
In connection with this, the company has temporarily suspended the listing of wagon shipments for auctions in January and subsequent periods so that customers can objectively assess the future cost of transportation. Reduced speed means an increase in the number of days of wagon use, and consequently – an increase in the tariff.
Sales will be resumed after the calculations are completed and the new parameters are published. “Ukrzaliznytsia” urges cargo owners to take these changes into account when planning logistics for 2026.
