Farmers in Cherkasy region have completed sowing winter crops and are finishing harvesting grain and industrial crops

The harvest in Cherkasy region is entering the home stretch. The gross harvest of grain and leguminous crops in the region amounts to over 3.6 million tons, with an average yield of about 62 centners per hectare, according to ProAgro Group.

The Department of Agricultural Development of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration reported that the region has completely finished harvesting early grains, cereals, rapeseed, and sunflowers. Corn harvesting is currently underway, with over 2 million tons threshed. Soybean harvesting is nearing completion, with 94% of the area threshed. Farms have already dug up 349,400 tons of beets.

The sowing of winter crops in the region has already been completed. For the 2026 harvest, 190.5 thousand hectares of winter wheat, 12.6 thousand hectares of winter barley, 1.5 thousand hectares of winter rye, and 32.2 thousand hectares of winter rapeseed have been sown.

Earlier it was reported that Zaporizhzhia and Khmelnytskyi regions had completely finished the 2025 harvest. As of December 5, 2025, a total of 10.551 million hectares of grain and legumes had been threshed in Ukraine, which is 91% of the forecast.
