As of December 1, 2025, Ukrainian farmers have sown 5.4 million hectares of winter grain crops for the 2026 harvest, which amounts to 99.5% of the planned area. This is stated in the analytical report on agrometeorological conditions and the state of crops in Ukraine by the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS), as reported by ProAgro Group.
In particular, 4.7 million hectares of winter wheat have been sown (99.3% of the forecast), winter barley — 597 thousand hectares (100.8%), and winter rye — 66.3 thousand hectares (100.3%).
The largest increase compared to the forecast of autumn grain sowing was recorded in the Odesa region — up by 4%, followed by Kyiv region — 2.1%, and Dnipropetrovsk region — 0.7%. Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Rivne, Chernihiv, and Chernivtsi regions have fully completed their planned sowing areas.
Winter rapeseed has been sown on 1.1 million hectares, which is 97.9% of the planned area. At the same time, rapeseed sowing in the Odesa region exceeded the forecast by as much as 60%, while in Kharkiv region — by 4.8%, and in Khmelnytskyi region — by 0.3%. Farmers in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, and Chernihiv regions have fully completed rapeseed sowing according to plan.
Earlier it was reported that farmers in the Cherkasy region had completed winter sowing. For the 2026 harvest, 190.5 thousand hectares of winter wheat, 12.6 thousand hectares of winter barley, 1.5 thousand hectares of winter rye, and 32.2 thousand hectares of winter rapeseed were sown in the region.
