Ukraine and the United Kingdom have extended the Agreement on Political Cooperation, Free Trade and Strategic Partnership between Ukraine and the United Kingdom with regard to the application of zero import duty rates on eggs and poultry meat for an additional two years, until March 31, 2028, ProAgro Group reports.
The office of Taras Kachka, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, noted that this extension is an important form of support for Ukraine’s agricultural sector and helps sustain exports amid the war. At the same time, the agreement creates additional opportunities for British businesses and consumers, strengthening mutual trust and predictability in trade relations.
“Even under wartime conditions, the Ukrainian economy continues to operate, export, and maintain production chains, while support from partners helps preserve this resilience and counter the aggressor. We highly appreciate the United Kingdom’s willingness not only to support Ukraine, but also to work with us to find solutions that deliver tangible results for businesses and citizens of both countries,” Taras Kachka emphasized.
As reported earlier, in January–November 2025 Ukraine exported 403.3 thousand tonnes of poultry meat and edible offal worth USD 1 billion. One of the main buyers was the United Kingdom, which accounted for 17.4% of total exports of this product category.
