Ukraine Becomes One of the Key Importers of Polish Agri-Food Products

In 2025, Ukraine imported €1.2 billion worth of agri-food products from Poland, ranking among the top three non-EU markets for Polish food exports. This was reported by Polish industry outlet AgroNews, ProAgro Group reports.

Overall, Poland’s agri-food exports reached €58.4 billion in 2025, up 8.6% year on year. At the same time, food imports into Poland increased to €38.6 billion (+7.8%), resulting in a positive trade balance of €19.8 billion, more than 10% higher than in 2024.

The European Union remains the main destination for Polish agri-food exports, accounting for €43.9 billion, or about 75% of total shipments. Poland’s largest EU trading partners were Germany (€14.8 billion), France (€4.0 billion) and Netherlands (€3.4 billion).

Exports to non-EU countries amounted to €14.5 billion (+3%). Besides Ukraine, key markets included the United Kingdom (€4.4 billion) and the United States (€838 million).

In terms of product structure, Poland’s agri-food exports were dominated by poultry meat (€4.2 billion, +26%), beef (€2.7 billion, +37%), dairy products (€2.8 billion, +12%), chocolate products (€2.5 billion, +21%) and bakery goods (€2.4 billion).

Earlier, it was reported that Poland is calling for stricter safeguard mechanisms regarding imports of agri-food products from Ukraine.
