Farmers in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region have started the spring sowing campaign despite the difficult conditions of a frontline region. The information was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, according to ProAgro Group.
According to him, agricultural producers are receiving support through state assistance programs. Farms cultivating land have received more than UAH 7 million in support per hectare, while another UAH 7 million has been directed to enterprises engaged in livestock production.
In addition, farmers in the region активно use government financial support instruments. Within the framework of the preferential lending program “5-7-9%”, they have attracted more than UAH 1 billion in loans. Agricultural producers have also received around UAH 13 million in compensation for purchasing Ukrainian-made agricultural machinery.
As previously reported, in Poltava region farmers plan to sow 1.4 million hectares this spring across all categories of farms, with the largest areas traditionally allocated to grain and industrial crops.
