Viliya completes early crop sowing and launches seed plant construction

Viliya Group (Volyn region) has completed the sowing of early spring crops, including durum wheat, spring barley, and peas, ProAgro Group reports.

According to the company’s founder, Yevhen Dudka, the farm is currently carrying out soil moisture retention operations after the winter period — a key agronomic practice to preserve yield potential.

In the coming weeks, the company plans to begin sowing sugar beet and sunflower, followed by soybean and corn, which traditionally account for the largest share of the crop structure.

At the same time, Viliya continues to expand its production capacity. The company has started construction of its own seed plant, which will allow it to secure high-quality seeds at a more affordable cost.

Dudka noted that the majority of the plant’s output will be used internally, although the company already cooperates with leading international seed producers.

The company emphasizes that combining modern agricultural technologies with investments in infrastructure helps improve efficiency and adapt to seasonal challenges.

As reported earlier, Ukraine’s spring sowing campaign has already begun. As of March 16, 2026, farmers in southern and western regions had sown 53.4 thousand hectares of spring grains and pulses.
