In Ukraine, purchase prices for raw milk continue to fall. Surpluses of finished dairy products in warehouses and an influx of cheap imported dairy goods keep putting pressure on the cost of raw milk, ProAgro Group reports.
According to monitoring by the Association of Milk Producers, as of December 9, the average purchase price for extra-grade milk was 16 UAH/kg excluding VAT, which is 1.05 UAH less than the previous month. High-grade milk averaged 15.8 UAH/kg, down 1.10 UAH from a month earlier. The average price for first-grade milk was 15.3 UAH/kg, a decrease of 1.2 UAH. As a result, the weighted average price across all three grades amounted to 15.8 UAH/kg excluding VAT, 1.15 UAH lower than in the previous month.
According to AMP analyst Heorhii Khukhaleishvili, the global dairy market is experiencing an oversupply of raw milk and finished dairy products, while existing demand cannot absorb these volumes, which also influences the price trend in Ukraine. Some price stabilization is expected no earlier than the 3rd–4th quarter of 2026.
As reported earlier, Ukrainian farmers are now receiving 17% less for extra-grade milk compared to last year.
