Kernel Secures $77 Million Loan from Oschadbank — Largest Private Deal of 2025

Oschadbank has signed loan agreements with agricultural holding Kernel totaling $77 million, marking the largest private lending transaction carried out by a Ukrainian bank in 2025. Almost half of the funds — $36.7 million — may be allocated to the company’s investment needs, ProAgro Group reports.

The financing will be used to upgrade agricultural machinery, land cultivation equipment, and to reconstruct the Transbalkterminal grain terminal in Chornomorsk, which was damaged by a Russian attack in 2023. Restoration and modernization works at the facility are already underway.

The credit facility can also be used to replenish working capital, including the purchase of grain, fertilizers, crop protection products, and fuel. The bank noted that combining investment and operational financing will support Kernel’s business stability and further development.

As previously reported, Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture has announced the launch of applications from non-bank financial institutions — credit unions and financial companies — to participate in a pilot project aimed at financing farmers.
