The Agrotrade Group has resumed corn harvesting. As of the end of 2025, the remaining area to be harvested in Cluster 3 in the Sumy region, located 20 km from the border with the enemy, amounted to 1,225.5 hectares — about 10% of the total corn planting area, according to ProAgro Group.
“This year’s harvesting campaign was forced to pause due to difficult weather conditions. During the autumn, the region received about 200 mm of precipitation, and machinery was unable to enter the fields for an extended period. High grain moisture also complicated operations. At the same time, severe winter frosts created additional strain on equipment,” the company stated.
Another major challenge was the security situation in the frontline region. Some contractors involved in transporting the harvest refused to operate along certain routes.
Despite these factors, corn harvesting has now resumed. Currently, six combines and nine grain carts are operating in the fields. Agrotrade Group plans to complete the campaign by the end of February.
As reported, according to FAS USDA estimates, Ukraine may still harvest more than 2 million tons of corn this season that currently remain in the fields.
