Stolichnyi Mlyn LLC has shipped 504 tonnes of flour to Syria as part of the humanitarian initiative Grain from Ukraine, the Union of Flour Millers of Ukraine reported, ProAgro Group informs.
Stolichnyi Mlyn is one of the major flour producers in Ukraine and supplies its products to bakeries and confectionery companies in Kyiv and other regions of the country. The enterprise processes 220–240 thousand tonnes of grain annually, while annual shipments of finished products exceed 140 thousand tonnes.
Since the launch of the Grain from Ukraine initiative in 2022, more than 324 thousand tonnes of agricultural products have been delivered to countries in Africa and Asia. The humanitarian program has already supported 19 countries facing food shortages.
Earlier it was reported that in February Ukraine delivered 1,850 tonnes of wheat to Pakistan within the Grain from Ukraine initiative. According to the World Food Programme (WFP), the shipment will help support about 26,000 people.
