Pakistan Receives 1,850 Tonnes of Wheat Under Grain from Ukraine Initiative

Ukraine has delivered 1,850 tonnes of wheat to Pakistan as part of the humanitarian initiative Grain from Ukraine, ProAgro Group reports.

According to the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, the shipment was financed by donors Spain and Czech Republic. Estimates by the World Food Programme (WFP) indicate that the delivery will help support around 26,000 people.

“Even during wartime, Ukraine remains a reliable guarantor of global food security. The delivered grain is already helping affected communities in Pakistan, while further shipments will strengthen the country’s preparedness for the monsoon season and help build reserves for rapid response,” said Deputy Economy Minister Denys Bashlyk.

Since 2022, more than 324,000 tonnes of agricultural products — including wheat and flour, corn, peas and vegetable oil — have been shipped to 19 countries in Africa and Asia under Ukraine’s humanitarian initiatives.

As reported earlier, Economy Minister Oleksii Sobolev said that Ukraine is moving away from being merely a political food donor and is becoming part of a new model of global food resilience — a country that not only helps feed the world today but also contributes to building innovative production mechanisms for the future.
