Ukraine exports over 37,000 tons of oil by rail in early March

In the first ten days of March, Ukraine exported 37.4 thousand tons of vegetable oil by rail, according to data presented during an online meeting between Ukrzaliznytsia and agricultural market participants on March 12, as reported by ProAgro Group.

According to operational data, oil export volumes by rail increased by 11% compared to February, but remained 34% lower year-on-year.

Currently, 77% of oil shipments are transported through border crossings, while the remaining volumes are directed to export via seaports.

Similar trends are observed for the export of oilseed meals. Around 78% of shipments pass through border crossings, while 22% are transported toward ports.

In total, 83.1 thousand tons of meal and cake were exported in the first ten days of March. This is 2% lower than in February, but 7.5% higher compared to March last year.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine is expected to export about 4.1 million tons of sunflower oil in the 2025/26 season, which is 14% lower year-on-year due to reduced sunflower production and processing volumes.
