The Ukrainian government has expanded its war risk insurance program, increasing compensation levels for businesses operating under wartime conditions, ProAgro Group reports.
In particular, the maximum compensation for damaged or destroyed property in frontline regions has been tripled — from UAH 10 million to UAH 30 million. The government also removed a rule that reduced payouts based on previously received state aid.
Companies that have already submitted applications are now allowed to amend them until May 1, 2026, including revising claimed losses or adding additional damaged assets.
The government also expanded compensation for insurance premiums. Across Ukraine, the maximum reimbursement has increased from UAH 1 million to UAH 3 million. Additionally, the waiting period has been shortened — businesses can now apply for compensation as early as 31 days after signing an insurance contract.
If insurance premiums are paid in installments, compensation will also be provided proportionally in stages.
According to government data, since the launch of the program in 2026, businesses have submitted 52 applications for compensation for damaged property, of which 20 have already been approved for a total of UAH 166.5 million. Another 21 applications have been filed for insurance premium compensation.
Earlier, in February, the Cabinet of Ministers improved the war risk insurance mechanism, extending coverage beyond real estate to include production equipment such as machinery, tools, and industrial devices used in core business operations.
