Ukrzaliznytsia raises grain wagon rates by UAH 400 in April

In April 2026, Ukrzaliznytsia increased rental rates for key types of railcars, including grain wagons, gondola cars, cement carriers, and others, ProAgro Group reports.

The market paid the most attention to the rise in grain wagon rates: they increased by UAH 400 and now stand at UAH 2,500 per day excluding VAT, compared to UAH 2,100 in March. At the same time, tariffs for other types of rolling stock also rose – gondola cars increased by UAH 300 (to UAH 1,750/day), food-grade tank cars by UAH 150 (to UAH 1,550/day), and cement carriers converted into gondola cars rose by nearly UAH 300 (to UAH 798/day).

Changes also affected other segments: rates for mineral wagons, pellet carriers, and a number of platforms increased, while some positions, such as 80-foot fitting platforms and liquefied gas tank cars, became cheaper.

Thus, April became a month of tariff revision, with grain wagons at the center of attention due to the most noticeable increase in usage costs.

As reported, compared to February, in March 2026 Ukrzaliznytsia increased the cost of using its own grain wagons by UAH 100 to UAH 2,100 per day excluding VAT.
