In March 2026, Ukrzaliznytsia revised rental rates for its own freight wagon fleet. The daily rate for grain wagons increased by UAH 100 to UAH 2,100 per day (excluding VAT), ProAgro Group reports.

Rental rates for 1435 mm gauge tank cars (Zacns model, 88 cubic meters) also rose by UAH 100 to UAH 5,400 per day, while modernized tank cars increased to UAH 5,850 per day. Piggyback platforms now cost UAH 303 per day. Fitting platforms of 60 and 80 feet rose to UAH 1,100 and UAH 1,650 per day, respectively.

The cost of food-grade tank cars increased by UAH 150 to UAH 1,400 per day (excluding VAT). Forty-foot fitting platforms rose by UAH 200 to UAH 1,250 per day, while timber platforms saw a sharper increase of UAH 400, reaching UAH 1,560 per day.

At the same time, gondola car rental rates decreased by UAH 100 to UAH 1,450 per day (excluding VAT).

As previously reported, in February 2026 grain wagon rental rates jumped sharply compared to January, rising from UAH 1,250 to UAH 2,000 per day, while gondola car tariffs increased to UAH 1,550 per day.
