In February 2026, rental rates for grain wagons operated by Ukrzaliznytsia increased significantly to UAH 2,000 per day excluding VAT, reports ProAgro Group.
Compared to January, when the daily rate stood at UAH 1,250, the cost of grain wagons rose by UAH 750 at once. Hopper wagons also became more expensive in February, increasing by UAH 100 to UAH 1,550 per day excluding VAT.
Higher rates were also applied to container platforms. The daily cost of 40-foot platforms increased from UAH 900 to UAH 1,050, 60-foot platforms to UAH 1,000, and 80-foot platforms to UAH 1,550, excluding VAT.
Tank wagons used for transporting food products also became more expensive. In February, their rental rate amounts to UAH 1,250 per day excluding VAT, compared with UAH 938 in January.
At the same time, tariffs for certain types of rolling stock remained unchanged. In particular, piggyback platforms continue to cost UAH 203 per day excluding VAT, while some specialized wagons became cheaper.
As previously reported, most types of Ukrzaliznytsia rolling stock increased in price in January 2026, although grain wagon rental rates remained unchanged at UAH 1,250 per day excluding VAT at that time.
