Astarta launches spring sowing campaign

The agro-industrial holding Astarta has begun its spring sowing campaign. The work started with the planting of sugar beet in the Poltava region ProAgro Group reports.

According to the company, the planned sowing areas for key crops this year are as follows: sugar beet – 32 thousand hectares, soybeans – 56 thousand hectares, winter wheat – 39 thousand hectares, sunflower – 23 thousand hectares, winter rapeseed – 15 thousand hectares, and corn for grain – 20 thousand hectares. The area under organic farming is 2 thousand hectares. The final crop structure will be determined based on the results of the campaign.

“This year’s sowing campaign is taking place under challenging conditions: increased moisture caused by abnormal frosts and soil freezing requires special attention from agronomists. They are adapting cultivation technologies and carefully monitoring field operations to improve production efficiency. Operational control is ensured by innovative solutions: AgriChain Machinery, AgriChain Scout, and AgriChain Barn. Combined with the upgraded machinery fleet, this allows for quick responses to weather and technological challenges, ensuring stability and quality of the sowing campaign,” said Astarta’s Chief Operating Officer Vasyl Chmelyuk.

As reported, Astarta purchased 50 units of new agricultural machinery for the spring sowing campaign with a total value exceeding $5.2 million. These include tractors of various capacities, seeding complexes, precision seeders, and other equipment.
