In October, only minor price reductions were recorded for certain products on the Ukrainian dairy market. According to the Association of Milk Producers, the average price of pasteurized milk with a fat content up to 2.6% decreased by 1% — to UAH 47.61/kg. Cultured milk cheese 9% also fell in price — by 2%, to UAH 288.91/kg.
At the same time, most items continue to rise in price. Kefir 2.5% increased by 1% — to UAH 57.16/kg, sour cream 15% — to UAH 150.45/kg (+1%), butter — to UAH 588.80/kg (+0.4%), and hard cheese “Ukrainskyi” — to UAH 603.46/kg (+2.2%).
The reason for high prices is the increase in producers’ costs for electricity, despite weak domestic demand and falling prices in foreign markets. The cheapest brands are “Kozhen Den”, “Auchan”, and “Kagma”, and the most expensive are “Yagotynske”, “Ferma”, and “Shostka”.
