According to the September forecast of the International Grains Council (IGC), global grain production in the 2025/26 season may reach a record 2.412 billion tons, and the total supply volume—over 3 billion tons, reports, transmits “ProAgro Group”.
The IGC increased the production forecast for all major crops except rye. Thus, wheat production is expected to reach 819 million tons (+2.5% compared to last season), and corn—1.297 billion tons (+5%). Global grain trade could rise to 438 million tons, which would be the second-highest figure in history.
Rice production is also forecast at a record level—544 million tons, and soybean consumption will increase by 3% due to active processing into feed, food products, and industry. Overall, despite low stocks, a high harvest will ensure the stability of the global market.
