Khmelnytskyi region plans to harvest 4.8 million tons of corn, targeting a yield of 85 centners/ha

This year Khmelnytskyi region entered the top three in terms of gross grain production and took first place in the yield of grain crops and sunflower.

As reported by the  Department of Agro-Industrial Development of Khmelnytskyi Regional State Administration, today agricultural enterprises continue harvesting corn for grain. The expected gross harvest of grain crops is 4.8 million tons with the highest average yield in Ukraine  – 85 centners per hectare.

«The obtained quantity of agricultural products will fully ensure the food security of the residents of the region. In particular, grain production exceeds the region’s needs by 2.5 times, potatoes – 3 times, and fully meets the needs of Khmelnytskyi residents in sugar and vegetables» – noted the head of the department Oleh Omelyaniuk.

Farmers in the region have completed sowing winter crops for the 2026 harvest, which occupy an area of 330 thousand hectares, including 234 thousand hectares for winter grain crops and 96 thousand hectares for winter rapeseed.
