In January–March 2026, a total of 808.6 thousand tons of oilseed meal and cake were transported by rail for export, according to ProAgro Group, citing an online meeting between representatives of Ukrainian Railways and agricultural market participants.
During the first three months of the year, rail exports of oilseed meal and cake reached 808.6 thousand tons, which is 30.4% higher than in the same period last year.
In March alone, 282.2 thousand tons were exported by rail. This volume is 15.6% higher than in February and 1.6 times higher than in March last year.
Border crossings accounted for 79% of total export volumes, while ports handled only 21%.
Vegetable oil shipments also showed positive dynamics. In March, 158.9 thousand tons of oil were exported, up 9.1% from February and 19.3% higher than in March last year. Of this volume, 57% was transported via border crossings and 43% via ports.
In total, 420 thousand tons of oil were exported in the first quarter, exceeding last year’s figure by 4%.
As previously reported, in the first ten days of March, 37.4 thousand tons of oil were exported by rail. This was 11% higher than in February but 34% lower than in the same period last year.
