russia Strikes Odesa Region Ports Again

Last night, the enemy once again shelled port and near-port infrastructure in the Odesa region. The attack caused damage to infrastructure facilities, warehouse and production premises, as well as company equipment, ProAgro Group reports.

According to Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba, fires broke out at several locations, including containers with food products.

Preliminary information indicates that there were no casualties. Emergency services eliminated the consequences of the fires.

“The enemy continues to target maritime logistics. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, 694 port infrastructure facilities and more than 150 civilian vessels have been damaged or destroyed. Despite this, the Ukrainian maritime corridor continues to operate – over 176 million tonnes of cargo have been processed, including more than 150 million tonnes of grain,” Kuleba said.

As reported, the ports of the Odesa region Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi have remained one of the main targets of russian attacks since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022. About 90% of Ukraine’s total exports pass through this hub. According to transport industry estimates, strikes on Odesa’s ports have reduced their export capacity to about 30% of the pre-war level.
