Ukraine has completed the screening under Chapter 11, «Agriculture and Rural Development,» within the framework of the negotiation process for accession to the European Union, according to «ProAgro Group».
During a meeting with European Commission representatives in Brussels, the Ukrainian delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka, presented 28 thematic blocks covering key aspects of agricultural policy, digitalization, state support, market regulation, and rural development.
Ukrainian representatives provided detailed explanations regarding the status of reforms and the level of alignment of national legislation with EU legal acts (acquis), particularly in the areas of product quality, organic production, and the functioning of agricultural markets.
The European Commission positively assessed the presented materials, which demonstrates Ukraine’s readiness for further integration into the EU Common Agricultural Policy. According to Deputy Minister of Economy Denys Bashlyk, this confirms the deep interest of European partners and paves the way for the development of an implementation plan for the relevant regulations.
The screening under Chapter 11 is part of Cluster 5, «Resources, Agriculture, and Cohesion Policy» — the final of the six clusters in the bilateral meeting process. The next stages will be screenings under Chapters 12 (food safety, veterinary, and phytosanitary policy) and 13 (fisheries and aquaculture).
