Ukraine Remains Among the World’s Top Five Organic Product Suppliers

Ukraine continues to maintain its position among the world’s leading suppliers of organic products despite the challenges caused by the full-scale war and ongoing logistics disruptions, ProAgro Group reports.

According to Serhii Halashevskyi, Director of Organic Standard, Ukrainian producers have managed to preserve export volumes. Over the first 11 months of 2025, exports of organic products by the company’s clients amounted to 112,000 tonnes, while total shipments for the year are expected to reach 120,000–125,000 tonnes.

He noted that soybeans, wheat and corn account for around three quarters of Ukraine’s total organic exports. At the same time, exports of value-added organic products have been gradually increasing. In the past, grains and pulses made up nearly 99% of organic exports, but this share has been steadily declining, with each percentage point reduction seen as an important step.

In recent years, exports of organic dairy products such as yogurt and kefir have expanded. Niche wild-harvested products — including medicinal raw materials and herbs — also appear periodically on export markets. In 2025, demand for organic raspberries was particularly strong and remains high.

“It is very difficult to push Ukraine out of the world’s top five suppliers of organic products,” Halashevskyi emphasized. He added that demand for Ukrainian organic goods remains stable, as consumers value their quality and transparency of production.

Earlier reports indicated that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine plans to consider draft law No. 13204 on organic production this year, which is expected to define regulatory frameworks for organic products in connection with the implementation of GMO-related legislation.
