Ukraine will not limit wheat export in the 2025/26 season

Ukraine will not restrict wheat exports in the 2025/26 season due to a higher harvest and lower export rates at the beginning of the current season. This was announced to Reuters by Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture.

Over the past few seasons, [Ukraine] restricted wheat exports to prevent the rise of domestic bread prices.

“We do not plan to introduce any restrictions on wheat exports this season. The harvest is higher than last year, and export rates are lower. According to our estimates, the wheat harvest will be around 23 million tonnes, and exports are expected to reach about 17 million tonnes,” the deputy minister said.

Last year, Ukraine harvested 22.6 million tonnes of wheat and exported 15.7 million tonnes of grain in the 2024/25 season.

According to the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, Ukraine has already exported 6.8 million tonnes of wheat in the current season, compared to 8.6 million tonnes during the same period last year.
