The third decade of November was marked by a temperature drop to -3…+10 ˚С, which, together with rain, wet snow, and frosts, restrained the development and spread of harmful organisms in winter cereal crops. Vegetation slowed down, but its complete cessation was not recorded.
According to the State Food and Consumer Service (Derzhprodspozhyvsluzhba), winter cutworm caterpillars were observed on 10–36% of the areas sown with winter cereals and rapeseed, where, with a population density of 0.3–2 spec. per sq. meter, 0.5–5% of plants were damaged in Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, and Kherson regions. Low-active feeding of cereal ground beetle larvae continues on 3–32% of winter wheat areas, damaging 2–5% of plants.
In winter cereal crops, powdery mildew, Septoria leaf spot, Helminthosporiosis, and brown leaf rust continue to develop on 3–28% of the areas, affecting 2–10% of plants. The development of root rot, predominantly Fusarium, was also noted, with an average infection rate of 1.6–3% of plants. In winter rapeseed crops, the development of downy mildew (peronosporosis), Phoma stem canker (phomosis), Alternariosis, and white leaf spot is recorded on 6–43% of the areas, affecting 1–6% of plants.
Mouse-like rodents continue to settle on unplowed lands, perennial grasses, and gardens, occupying 12–54% of areas with 1–6 colonies per hectare, particularly in Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Rivne, Ternopil, Kherson, Cherkasy, and Chernivtsi regions. In 7–35% of winter grain crops and 5–54% of rapeseed, from isolated burrows up to 1–3 colonies per hectare have been found in Dnipropetrovsk, Ternopil, and Kharkiv regions. In Cherkasy region, flooding of up to 30% of burrows was recorded. In dry weather and temperatures above +5 ºС, an increase in the number and migration of rodents is possible.
As of November 27, 2025, the protection of agricultural crops from harmful organisms has been carried out on an area of 39.9 million hectares, 1.1 million hectares of which used the biological method. Against mouse-like rodents, 126.2 thousand hectares of land have been treated, including 66.5 thousand hectares of winter grain crops, 51.6 thousand hectares of winter rapeseed, 6.3 thousand hectares of perennial grasses, and 1.8 thousand hectares of other crops. 103.7 thousand hectares were protected by the chemical method, and 22.5 thousand hectares by the biological method.
