Vinnytsia Region Harvests Its Largest Crop Since the Start of the War

Vinnytsia region continues to confidently hold leading positions in Ukraine’s agricultural production, ProAgro Group reports.

According to the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration, the region ranks among the top five Ukrainian oblasts in the production of grains and oilseeds, sugar beets, sunflower, fruit and vegetable products, as well as meat and milk.

In the first 11 months of 2025, agricultural output in the Vinnytsia region increased by 1.6% year-on-year. Farmers harvested 5.2 million tonnes of grain crops — the highest figure recorded since the introduction of martial law. In addition, the region produced 1.7 million tonnes of oilseeds and 2.1 million tonnes of sugar beets.

A key achievement of the year was the increase in yields across nearly all crops. The strongest gains were recorded among late spring cereals and legumes. Millet yields rose by 15.3 centners per hectare (+54.6%), peas by 9.5 c/ha (+40.6%), buckwheat by 2.5 c/ha (+19.7%), and grain corn by 12.9 c/ha (+18.2%).

Among industrial crops, sugar beet yields increased by 79.5 c/ha (+19.8%), sunflower by 4.8 c/ha (+17.8%), and soybeans by 3.6 c/ha (+15.5%).

Vegetable production also showed strong growth. In 2025, areas dedicated to industrial vegetable cultivation expanded 3.5 times compared with the pre-war period, including production in protected (greenhouse) conditions.

As previously reported, by the end of December 2025 farmers in the Vinnytsia region had almost completed fieldwork, with about 7,000 hectares of corn still left to be harvested.
