Vinnytsia Region Expands Sugar Production

The sugar industry remains a strategic sector for the agricultural economy of Vinnytsia Oblast. Four sugar plants in the region have already processed more than 2 million tonnes of sugar beet, producing 290,000 tonnes of sugar, according to ProAgro Group. One of the plants has completed the sugar processing season, while the others continue operations, ensuring stable market supplies.

The Vinnytsia Regional State Administration reported that farmers in the region have nearly completed fieldwork. Corn harvesting remains ongoing on around 7,000 hectares, with an average yield of 8.23 tonnes per hectare, which is 1.2 tonnes higher than last year.

Overall, grains and pulses have been harvested across 770,400 hectares, yielding approximately 5.2 million tonnes of grain. The average yield for the grain group reached 6.71 tonnes per hectare, exceeding last year’s results.

While farms are already preparing soils for the 2026 harvest, the key focus of the current season remains sugar production, which continues to demonstrate stability and high processing rates.

Earlier reports noted that as of early December, 26 sugar plants affiliated with the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine had processed 8.36 million tonnes of sugar beet, producing 1.25 million tonnes of sugar nationwide.
