Ukraine Seeks to Open Poultry Meat Exports to the United States

The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection held an online technical meeting with representatives of the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) to discuss opening the U.S. market to Ukrainian poultry meat and poultry products, ProAgro Group reports.

The meeting marked another step in the procedure to review Ukraine’s request for recognition of the equivalence of its state control system for poultry product safety with U.S. requirements. At present, the U.S. side is analyzing the materials and information submitted by the State Service.

During the online discussions, the parties focused on key elements of the inspection system, veterinary and sanitary controls, and the organization of supervision at enterprises that could potentially export poultry products to the United States.

Following the meeting, both sides agreed to expand information exchange to facilitate a prompt response to Ukraine’s request, as well as to maintain ongoing consultations and data sharing.

“The State Service continues systematic efforts to open new markets, enabling Ukrainian poultry producers to expand export opportunities and strengthen Ukraine’s presence in global markets,” the agency emphasized.

As previously reported, in 2025 Ukraine significantly expanded the geography of its agricultural exports, opening 19 new markets for products of animal and plant origin.
