Solomna Agropostach, part of the Vitagro group, has announced plans to build a new livestock farm in the Volochysk urban community, ProAgro Group reports.

The dairy complex for nearly 1,300 cows will be constructed on a 5.1-hectare site in the village of Solomna, near Volochysk. The project предусматривает installation of modern equipment and partial purchase of livestock, while the majority of the herd will be supplied by the company’s own breeding service. After milking, the milk will be cooled on-site and transported to processing plants.

Total investments in the project are estimated at UAH 500 million. Once the new facility is commissioned, vitagro’s total dairy herd is expected to reach 6,700 cows.

Recently, a modern livestock farm for 650 head of young cattle was launched in Lviv region at the Pchany-Denkovychi farm, highlighting ongoing investment activity in Ukraine’s dairy sector.
