An elevator with 28,000 tonnes of storage capacity is being built in Cherkasy region, with construction continuing through winter

Active construction is underway in Ukraine’s Cherkasy region on a grain elevator complex with 28,000 tonnes of one-time storage capacity, ProAgro Group  reports.

According to AktyvProekt, the project designer, the facility uses galvanized steel structures. While this approach slightly extends installation timelines, it significantly improves durability and reduces maintenance costs during operation. Industry experts estimate that galvanized structures can have a service life of 30–40 years, making them particularly suitable for long-term agricultural infrastructure projects.

Given a tight implementation schedule, the developer decided not to suspend construction during the winter, despite harsh weather conditions. Continuing works in the cold season is expected to allow the facility to be commissioned without major delays.

The construction of new grain elevators remains relevant for central regions of Ukraine. Market participants note that around 0.5 million tonnes of new elevator capacity were commissioned nationwide in 2025, with further investment growth expected in 2026, primarily in farmer-owned and regional storage facilities.

As previously reported, a farming enterprise in Chernihiv region is also building a 10,000-tonne grain elevator.
