A court has imposed a preventive measure on former Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi in the form of detention with the alternative of bail. This was reported by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, ProAgro Group reports.
According to the investigation, Solskyi, together with two accomplices, attempted to sell 7,000 tonnes of non-existent corn using forged warehouse documents. On paper, the elevator was filled with grain, but in reality, it was empty.
Bail for the former minister has been set at UAH 63.7 million — the amount of damages confirmed by the forensic examination.
As for the other participants in the scheme — the director of the agricultural enterprise and its technical manager — motions have been submitted to the court to apply the same preventive measure.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The suspects are charged with fraud under Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which предусматриє 5 to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As reported, the Office of the Prosecutor General has sent to court an indictment against the “governor” of the occupied part of Kherson region, Volodymyr Saldo. According to the investigation, in 2022, under his leadership, a scheme of forced seizure of grain and other products from farmers, as well as the takeover of enterprises and grain terminals, was carried out. The total value of the illegally appropriated resources is estimated at over UAH 5.3 billion.
