Delayed Until Spring: Experts Predict Corn Harvesting Will Conclude in March

As of mid-November, 2.72 million hectares of corn have been harvested in Ukraine — this is 62% of the updated forecast harvesting area. According to Barva Invest, the Ministry of Economy adjusted the estimate of areas under grain — from 4.191 million hectares to 4.4 million hectares, effectively confirming the USDA’s September forecast made before the US shutdown.

Experts note that this year’s campaign is one of the slowest in terms of harvesting pace. The main reasons are high grain moisture, expensive drying, and complicated logistics. Similar to 2022, the final completion of the harvest may not happen until March.

“This is currently one of the worst years in terms of harvesting pace,” Barva Invest states.
