The EU purchased 75% of Ukrainian oilseeds in 2024: rapeseed and soybean keep exports afloat

In 2024, oilseeds accounted for 13.7% of Ukraine’s total agricultural exports, demonstrating a gradual recovery after the drop in 2023. Total revenue reached $3.39 billion, indicating logistics stabilization and sustained global demand.

According to UCAB, the main sales market remained the European Union, which absorbed over 75% of Ukrainian supplies. Africa, the Middle East, and Asia together received slightly more than 24%. The export structure is dominated by rapeseed (54.5%) and soybeans (39.6%), which together form 94% of the revenue, highlighting their strategic role while simultaneously creating a risk of excessive dependence on a single region.

Ukraine consistently ranks among the TOP-10 global exporters of oilseeds, and the geography of supplies covers 86 countries. Black Sea ports play a key role in logistics, although their functionality has not yet been fully restored — the Danube and land routes remain critically important.
