FAO to Support Nearly 240,000 Ukrainian Farmers Under Three-Year Recovery Plan

Almost 240,000 Ukrainian farmers and rural families will receive support under a three-year Emergency Response and Early Recovery Plan presented by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), ProAgro Group reports.

According to Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, the plan for 2026–2028 will be implemented jointly with the Government of Ukraine and aligns with national priorities for agricultural development. It combines rapid assistance for farmers—such as seeds, animal feed, and cash support—with long-term solutions, including demining of agricultural land, grants, vouchers, and grain storage facilities. This approach will enable farmers not only to withstand current challenges but also to work safely and plan for the future.

“The war has significantly complicated farmers’ operations, yet the agricultural sector remains the backbone of food security, employment, and economic resilience in Ukraine. That is why, together with international partners, we are investing in the resilience of rural families and the future of Ukrainian agricultural production,” Taras Vysotskyi emphasized.

It was previously reported that this month FAO completed the distribution of 615 modular grain storage units to Ukrainian farmers from frontline regions.
