In the Khmelnytskyi region, some farms in the Kamianets-Podilskyi and Khmelnytskyi districts have already started sowing early spring grain crops, ProAgro Group reports.
According to the Department of Agro-Industrial Development and Land Relations of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, as of March 23, spring wheat has already been sown on 3.5 thousand hectares, spring barley on 1.4 thousand hectares, and peas on 0.3 thousand hectares. In total, 5.2 thousand hectares of spring crops have been sown, which accounts for 2% of the planned area for early grain crops.
In addition, spring rapeseed has been sown on 2.2 thousand hectares, reaching 70% of the planned area.
Overall, the total area for sowing all spring crops in the region this year is planned at 880 thousand hectares, which corresponds to last year’s level.
Earlier, it was reported that the cost of this year’s sowing campaign for Ukrainian farmers is expected to increase by approximately 15% compared to last year, reaching around UAH 700 billion.
