Live hog prices in Ukraine expected to rise to UAH 70–71/kg next week

Live hog prices in Ukraine are expected to increase to UAH 70–71 per kilogram in the week of March 2–8, according to the analytical department of the Meat Industry Association, ProAgro Group reports.

Earlier, prices for the current week were forecast at UAH 67–68/kg, reflecting seasonal weakening in pork demand.

As usual, live hog prices may vary by region due to the uneven distribution of production and processing capacities within the meat industry.

The association also noted that pork prices in Europe have fallen to their lowest level since 2022. This factor, along with the unpredictable development of African swine fever (ASF), may start influencing Ukrainian pig prices from March 2026.

“Given the interconnected nature of the markets, European price dynamics will remain an important benchmark for the domestic sector,” analysts emphasized.
