According to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine produced 6.86 million tonnes of milk during 2025, which is 5.2% less compared with the same period last year, reports ProAgro Group.

In particular, agricultural enterprises produced 3.19 million tonnes of milk last year, which is 7% more than in 2024. Meanwhile, milk yields in household farms decreased by 13.6% in 2025 compared with the previous year, down to 3.67 million tonnes. Thus, by the end of 2025 the share of enterprises in raw milk production amounted to 46.5%, while household farms accounted for 53.5%.

According to Georgiy Kukhiashvili, an analyst at the Association of Milk Producers, despite blackouts and Russian attacks, the growth rates of raw milk production in Ukraine’s industrial sector in 2025 were among the best in Europe and the world. For comparison: last year yield increases were 2.3% in the United States, 1.8% in New Zealand, and 1.2% in the EU.

Earlier reporting noted that 2025 was another difficult year for Ukraine’s dairy industry, but it ended relatively positively. For the first time since independence, agricultural enterprises increased their cattle numbers by 3%, which, together with productivity gains, led to roughly a 7% rise in milk production in that segment.
