New Head Appointed to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority

Deputy Prime Minister for Ukraine’s Recovery and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba has appointed Mykola Kravchuk as Head of the State Enterprise Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA). The appointment was announced by the USPA press service, ProAgro Group reports.

According to USPA, prior to this appointment Mykola Kravchuk had headed the State Service of Maritime and Inland Water Transport and Shipping of Ukraine (the Maritime Administration) since July 2025.

Biographical information from the Maritime Administration indicates that Kravchuk served as First Deputy Head of the agency starting in November 2024, and was appointed its head in July 2025.

USPA also noted that Kravchuk has extensive managerial experience, holds a law degree from the National Academy of Internal Affairs, and has received departmental awards from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

For Ukraine, maritime logistics remains the key channel for exporting bulk agricultural cargoes, including grain, oilseeds, and processed products, as ports are able to handle large volumes and ensure stable shipments to distant markets. A clear indicator of the importance of the maritime route is the operation of the Ukrainian Maritime Corridor: USPA has reported that since its launch in 2023, more than 100 million tons of grain cargo have been handled through Ukraine’s seaports.

These volumes directly support the export potential of the agricultural sector, foreign currency inflows, and the fulfillment of contracts by Ukrainian traders and producers.

As previously reported, in 2025 Ukraine’s seaports handled 82.2 million tons of cargo. Agricultural products formed the backbone of port throughput, accounting for 44.2 million tons, or 53.7% of the total volume.
