In 2025, Ukrainian seaports handled a total of 82.2 million tonnes of cargo. This represents 95.36% of the planned volume, while the forecast cargo turnover target was fulfilled at 100.5%, ProAgro Group reports.
Despite unprecedented security pressure, repeated attacks on port infrastructure, and frequent air raid alerts, Ukraine’s seaports ended 2025 with results that confirm the resilience of the port sector and its ability to operate under wartime conditions, the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine stated.
According to the Administration, agricultural products remained the backbone of cargo turnover in 2025, accounting for 44.2 million tonnes, or 53.7% of total volumes. Container traffic showed significant growth: 215,748 TEU were handled during the year, compared with 129,902 TEU in 2024. Ukrainian products were exported to 55 countries worldwide.
A major challenge in 2025 was the high number of air raid alerts and strikes on port infrastructure. In Odesa region alone, air raid alarms were declared more than 800 times, resulting in cumulative operational downtime exceeding one month.
The Administration of Seaports of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the Defence Forces, port workers, stevedoring companies, and all industry professionals for their professionalism and resilience, as well as to the Ukrainian Navy for ensuring maritime security and the functioning of sea corridors.
As previously reported, between October and December 2025, Russia significantly intensified attacks on Ukraine’s maritime logistics, damaging at least 20 commercial vessels and destroying or severely damaging nearly 50 port infrastructure facilities.
