OSTCHEM plants produced over 1.5 mln tonnes of fertilizers in 2025

Nitrogen holding OSTCHEM produced 1.571 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers in 2025, down 12.7% compared to 1.8 million tonnes in 2024, ProAgro Group reports citing Group DF.

Cherkasy Azot manufactured 1.017 million tonnes of fertilizers, while Rivneazot produced 554.3 thousand tonnes.

Ammonium nitrate accounted for the largest share of production at 672.4 thousand tonnes (42.8%). UAN (urea-ammonium nitrate solution) output totaled 539.17 thousand tonnes (34.3%), urea — 232.03 thousand tonnes (14.8%), and ammonia — 61.47 thousand tonnes (3.9%).

Compared to 2024, ammonium nitrate production decreased by 11.6%, urea by 42.3%, and ammonia by 18%. At the same time, UAN output increased by 6.4%.

The company cited high energy costs, unstable power supply, war-related risks, weakened purchasing power of farmers and persistent import pressure as the main factors constraining production in 2025.

“In 2025, the chemical industry operated under stress conditions. The issue is no longer profitability but preserving the country’s industrial base. Strategic products must be manufactured domestically,” said Serhii Pavliuchuk, Production Director of OSTCHEM’s nitrogen business.

According to him, in 2025 the plants operated strictly based on confirmed demand and focused on products most востребованные by the market.

As previously reported, starting February 20, OSTCHEM increased selling prices for ammonium nitrate and UAN by UAH 500 per tonne, marking the second price hike since December 2025.
