Farms of the PAEK company in the Mykolaiv region have begun sowing early carrots, ProAgro Group reports.
For this purpose, the company selected the ultra-early Nantes-type hybrid Presto developed by the Dutch company Hazera, known for its uniform roots and attractive market appearance.
According to the company’s Facebook page, the beds for the crop were prepared in advance, and the current soil moisture reserves are sufficient to ensure uniform germination.
“We are carrying out sowing in accordance with technological requirements. Currently, we use a seeding rate of 0.8 million seeds per hectare,” the company noted.
If weather conditions remain favorable, the first harvest is expected by the end of June.
Earlier it was reported that in January, the company Agrovirobnytstvo LLC, which is part of the PAEK group, began sowing seeds of ultra-early cabbage in trays. This year, the company allocated 50 hectares for ultra-early cabbage, with harvesting planned for late April – early May.
