In December 2025, road transport accounted for the export of more than 55,000 tonnes of grain and processed agricultural products, representing about 1.3% of Ukraine’s total agricultural exports, ProAgro Group reports.
Although this route remains the smallest compared to maritime and rail logistics, it plays a crucial role in supplying niche products and fulfilling urgent contracts with European Union countries.
The main commodities exported by road last month were sunflower oil and soybean oil, with combined shipments exceeding 33,000 tonnes. This structure confirms the efficiency of road logistics on short routes to Poland, Romania and Hungary, where delivery speed and flexible shipment volumes are critical. In addition to oils, sunflower seeds, soybeans and meal were actively exported by road, often in smaller consignments tailored to specific buyers.
Market experts note that road transport remains one of the most operational and flexible export channels, especially amid limited port capacity and bottlenecks at rail border crossings. Under favorable conditions – including simplified border procedures and stable operation of checkpoints- the growth potential of road-based agricultural exports is estimated at 10–15%.
Earlier reports indicated that in November 2025, sales of new commercial trucks in Ukraine fell by 10% year-on-year to 982 units.
