The state program of partial compensation for the costs of cotton cultivation for farmers will be extended in 2026. This was announced by the initiator of the program, Member of Parliament and Deputy Chair of the Parliamentary Agrarian Committee, Stepan Cherniavskyi, ProAgro Group reports.
According to him, the decision was secured after lengthy negotiations with government officials involving members of the agrarian committee.
As the MP noted, the Ministry of Economy has already approved the extension of the program for next year. However, the exact amount of funding has not yet been determined, as the government is still finalizing the list of budget programs and allocating financial resources.
“We expect that the level of support will be at least UAH 10,000 per hectare, or even higher, since the annual costs of growing cotton continue to rise,” Cherniavskyi explained.
He also added that the compensation program will be included in the “Farmer Support” category, for which UAH 2.6 billion has been allocated in the draft state budget for 2026. This category also includes state subsidies per hectare.
