Turkish company Erisler buys stolen Ukrainian grain from russian drone manufacturer

Turkish company Erisler, a supplier to the UN World Food Programme, has been purchasing grain from temporarily occupied Mariupol. The supplier is the russian firm Nika, whose owners simultaneously manufacture drones for the Russian army, ProAgro Group reports.

According to an investigation by Slidstvo.Info, in 2023–2024 Nika shipped more than 54,000 tons of wheat to Turkey. Export volumes nearly quadrupled in 2024, reaching 59,500 tons worth $12.9 million. Customs declarations confirm that the company’s production facilities are located in occupied Mariupol.

Nika is owned by russian businessman Roman Gurov, who also heads the sanctioned company Roboavia. This firm produces reconnaissance drones “Sarych” and strike drones “Surprise” for russia’s military.

Part of the grain exported to Turkey through Global Commodities and Logistics Limited was received directly by Erisler. The company produces flour and instant noodles, which are also sold in Ukraine. One batch of wheat delivered in April 2024 was tested by the Ukrainian office of international inspection company Cotecna, which later stated it categorically denies any involvement with goods originating from occupied territories.

Earlier reports indicated that in 2025 russia illegally exported 2 million tons of stolen Ukrainian grain via the Black Sea. Since 2022, russia has looted around 15 million tons of grain from occupied territories, valued at $6.8 billion.
