Ukraine Allocates UAH 34 Million in State Support for Irrigation in 2025

In 2025, the Ukrainian government allocated UAH 34 million in state support to 10 agricultural enterprises operating on irrigated land across Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Odesa, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions, according to ProAgro Group.

The state support program provides compensation for expenses related to the reconstruction and/or construction of irrigation systems. The maximum compensation amounts to UAH 26,500 per hectare of farmland where hydraulic land reclamation is applied.

The Ministry of Economy noted that the program enabled irrigation of approximately 2,500 hectares of agricultural land, strengthening the resilience of agricultural production amid climate risks and wartime challenges.

“Investments in irrigation are investments in agricultural development. Thanks to state support mechanisms, farmers can restore irrigation infrastructure, use land more efficiently, and plan production cycles even under difficult conditions,” said Iryna Ovcharenko.

Earlier reports noted that in 2025 the government maintained a comprehensive approach to supporting the agricultural sector, focusing on restoring production, enhancing farm resilience, and developing strategic areas such as livestock farming, irrigation, fisheries, and niche crops.
