Ukraine exported 36.4 thousand tons of honey in 10 months — over $84 million, 70% to the EU

In the first 10 months of 2025, Ukraine exported 36.4 thousand tons of honey worth over $84 million, of which more than 70% was supplied to the countries of the European Union. This was announced by Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, during a forum dedicated to the European integration of the Ukrainian honey sector.

Ukraine consistently ranks among the top five global honey exporters, maintaining its position even under difficult wartime conditions. According to Vysotskyi, digitalization, production modernization, and strengthening quality control create conditions for expanding exports not only to the EU but also to the markets of Asia and the Middle East.

“Ukraine is one of the leaders in honey exports to the EU. This testifies to the high quality, trust, and competitiveness of our products. The development of digital tools, production modernization, and strengthening quality control are gradually creating conditions for scaling up exports not only to the EU but also to the markets of Asia and the Middle East,” he wrote on Facebook.

He also emphasized the necessity of ensuring full compliance with EU standards, particularly regarding the traceability of honey origin, registration of apiaries, and quality control. Such an approach will open access to new markets and long-term contracts for Ukrainian producers.

As of November 2025, 62,697 apiaries and over 2.84 million bee colonies are registered in the Register of Apiary Passports. According to expert estimates, integration into the EU market could increase Ukrainian honey exports by 25–30% in the next three years.
